The Greatest Champions Aren’t Those Who Stop at Winning the Fight.
They’re those who use their victory to fight for others.

No one understands this concept better than FightStrong founder and cancer survivor, Joseph Nigro. After his own battle with cancer, Joey felt a deep conviction to use his fight as a force for good. When Joey and Victory crossed paths, they held shared values and a singular vision: to build a better world. This alignment was the spark that led to the partnership between FightStrong and Victory.
After launching a lifetime partnership in 2024, Victory and FightStrong are taking their collaboration to new heights in 2025—by becoming The Victory Foundation’s first non-profit partner and honoree at their first annual Gala in July 2025. This partnership will be crucial to FightStrong’s next and biggest initiative yet - FightStrong Recovery.

After Cancer, it’s Comeback Season. Welcome to FightStrong Recovery.
For cancer survivors, ringing the bell isn’t the finish line—it’s the start of a new fight.
The fight to rebuild. To reclaim strength, confidence, and hope. During treatment, support is everywhere. But after? The spotlight fades, leaving many to navigate recovery alone.
FightStrong believes cancer survivors deserve more than just survival—they deserve life to the fullest. A life that’s not just restored, but reignited. Through expert guidance, holistic wellness, and the strength of community, we stand in the gap—helping survivors reclaim their bodies, minds, and spirits in a space built for healing and growth. Because life after cancer isn’t about going back. It’s about building forward—stronger, wiser, and more empowered than ever. Therefore, it is the FightStrong mission to develop recovery centers all over the country to support survivors in their next fight - to reignite a healthy mind, body, and soul.
Joey’s Story:
My Battle with Lymphoma

When I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I was 20 years old. My world changed instantly — not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. I lost my strength, my sport (basketball), my rhythm. But what I gained was clarity. Clarity about what matters, about how short and sacred life can be, and about how important it is to support others going through their darkest days. During my treatment, I had support from my family, friends, and care team. But after? After the bell rang and I was declared in remission. That’s when I felt the silence. The world expects you to go back to “normal.” But what if your normal is gone? I beat cancer. But I quickly learned that survival isn't the finish line — it’s the starting gate for a different kind of fight. A quieter one. A more personal one. The one where you’re left to rebuild your body, your mindset, and your place in the world.
That feeling — of being on a new journey with no map is why I started The Fightstrong Foundation. I didn’t want anyone else to feel alone in that space. I wanted to turn my pain into purpose. Today, Fightstrong is more than a Foundation — it’s a family. A growing network of survivors, supporters, and builders who believe that the real fight begins after the bell rings.
